Opus 3 Trio

Opus 3 Trio was founded in 1990 by David Hardy, Lisa Emenheiser and Charles Wetherbee after their
collaboration at the Hidden Valley Music Festival in Carmel Valley, California.  They have performed to critical
acclaim for audiences throughout the United States.  Washington Post critic Mark Adamo writes of Opus 3,
"throughout the program the musicians of Opus 3 made music of beauty and power."  Their aim is to present a
varied program to chamber music audiences with special emphasis on 20th  century repertoire and newly
commissioned works.  To that end, their commissioned works include additions to the piano trio repertoire from
such composers as David Froom, Jeffrey Mumford, William Averitt, Lawrence Moss, Maiko Chiba, Jonathan
Leshnoff and others.

Based in Washington, D.C., their chamber music series has been located at the beautiful Meridien
International House and previously at Hearst Hall at the National Cathedral School.  Other venues in
Washington have included the Phillips Collection, French Embassy, German Embassy, Strathmore Arts
Center, National Gallery of Art, and the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.   Chamber music
performances have included debut concerts in Baltimore, Buffalo, Columbus, Carmel Valley, and others.  They
have appeared and performed  at various universities across the country and are pleased to return in August,
2007 for their seventh season at “Snake River Chamber Players” in Keystone, Colorado.
